Instead of relying on an unpredictable and expensive external balancing system, the SimpBMS utilizes the high-quality OEM Tesla balance boards on each module to monitor for faults and keep the cells balanced. By communicating with the balance boards, the SimpBMS takes advantage of the millions of dollars of research and development that went into developing the Tesla balance boards. |

With near plug-and-play compatibility, the SimpBMS can be configured to monitor voltage (at the cell, module, and pack level), temperature at each battery terminal, and state-of-charge of your expensive Tesla modules in minutes. Only 4 wires from the balance boards are required to connect the SimpBMS to up to 64 Tesla battery modules: +5v, Ground, and TX and RX signal wires.

USER INTERFACE
The text-based serial terminal is easy to learn and navigate. The status of your connected modules scrolls continuously, with voltage, temperature, SoC, and current all readily available. Settings are contained in one menu, which can be easily accessed by typing in “s” in the serial interface. Advanced configurability allows you to set balancing voltage to the precision of 0.001v and set parameters for discharge/charge rates, temperature, and charging cutoff. Any serial terminal can be used to set up and monitor the SimpBMS. We recommend Termite by CompuPhase. All important information can be displayed in real time on the optional 2.4 inch touchscreen display. Wiring up the display is easy with the highly recommended connector and plug set.
