EVS-CPI/SimpCharge

NOTE: We have discontinued the EVS-CPI/SimpCharge and it is no longer available for purchase. The Vero Charge is our latest EVSE controller.

The EVS-Charge/SimpCharge EVSE Controller interfaces with offboard Level 1 and Level 2 J1772/Mennekes AC chargers to allow your EV conversion to charge at public charging stations.

The EVS-Charge/SimpCharge is compatible with the Vero BMS V2.

NOTE: The EVS-CPI and SimpCharge are functionally identical, with a slightly different pinout. Please refer to the documentation before wiring.

Included in your purchase:
– EVS-CPI/SimpCharge EVSE Charge Controller
– 8-pin male MOLEX connector with pins
– 1k ohm resistor for J1772 proximity plug (some J1772 inlets have this preinstalled)

Documentation: CLICK HERE

Standalone Functions:

  1. Detect Plug (Type 1 or 2) based on the Proximity Signal – Dedicated 12V output when plug is inserted, EVSE does not need to be powered ON
  2. Detect Active EVSE based on the Pilot Signal – Dedicated 12V output when Pilot Signal is ACTIVE
  3. Switch on EVSE with simple 12V signal – Can come from any 12V source; A BMS signal (same as a charger activate signal) or a simple 12V switch

Additional Functions with the SimpBMS or Vero BMS V2:

  1. Detect available AC current from EVSE – Pilot Signal gets conditioned to be read by the BMS, which allows for the automatic limiting of CANbus-based chargers.
